Week 18
Thanks to 1st of may 3 day long week-end where i managed 2 runs on saturday and 1 on sunday, weekly workload was decent, although unbalanced toward week-end’s longer and harder runs.

I think i am getting a bit bored about z2 training. Since i am in the process of increasing running cadence, i think i’ll add 1 weekly session of high intensity running.
Also, kine told me to add some plank sessions for core strentgthening.
The week-end runs where easy speed hiking, trying to take it easy, basically walking uphills and gently running on flat / downhill, trying to keep in z2, or at least with HR below 140.
Adopted the same strategy on sunday’s run: i went out without a route, first planning some easy 10k. Then i got in sight of Tourvéon, a conical 1000m high hill north of Claveisolles. Decided to head for summit. So i ended doing 19k. pretty tired at the end. So i think 140BPM is definitely an upper limit.
Week 19 and 20
Daily average load of 50. Not bad but very irregular as any 10k runs is above 50, whereas any bike commute / Z2 gym training are too low.
Between big workday and long week-end,it is difficult to keep regular schedule. I need to reschedule training session (instead of “i’ll train when i have time”) and stick to that schedule.
Shitty half marathon with my Altra shoes convince me to switch to minimalist shoes. i’be been running a few month with 0 drop Altra on trail and road. I’ll switch back to five fingers for short road runs. The Altra road shoes are too squishy. I feel the Altra trail’s too stiff and quite heavy. Still worrying about price and durability of minimalist shoes. Bought a pair of reconditionned vivobarefoot mini shoes for everyday wear.
Did a very very good 10k run with 5 fingers, pbly experienced the famous “runner high”, a fast, enjoyable, effortless run. A run that remind me that fun is a mandatory part of training, at least for me.
