Already a month gone since last post. Fortunately, i have started a daily journal (using daily-U application) to monitor food, sleep, mood, sport, among other things, so i can remember.

A month ago our vacations were coming slowly to their end, with a couple days in Brittany, having a glimpse at the eclipse, and suffering from heat. Then a big car trip back across half of France, traveling through dried up yellow landscapes. We reached Claveisolles, were suprised the house was cool. We settled there for a few days (with just a backtrip to Lyon furnace to get the cat from their cat sitter. Lil’ bastard seemed to have put some weight, probably hijacking other cats’ food).
I really enjoyed those days settling in a relaxing routine, ticking out things that were gathering dust on the todolist, resuming running and cycling, not eager to be back in Lyon. It so feels like i’ll be spending my “old” days once the kids are out on their own. I hope (and dread) it.
Only regret is that i completely left the teens to themselves, and they didnot do much…
The return to Lyon was imo too early, but the teens were restless.
We settled to going back to school, T1 to her previous school, same level ( the local school has no availability). T2 is starting again in a new school, new neighborood.
Soon t1 lost complete interest and motivation, wanted to drop school and get self-schooled at home. Wasnot thrilled by the prospect. I finally managed to convince her to attend same school as her brother. She accepted. Today willl be her first day .

T2 is also struggling in school, lack of work the previous years, phone addiction is definitely showing. He also express a lack of self-confidence. I finally felt happy that he managed to got to school on time every day, and also do some homework. Goal is to get into gear asap. Looks like i’ve a bit over confident in their ability to manage themselves. I’ll spend the next couple weeks on their back, making sure they provide the necessary homework.
So because of this state of family affairs, heat, loneliness, i’ve hit a couple of low mood days lately.
On the plus sides: i’ve started again meditating ( for now small 10min daily session to build routine ). I am slowly cutting my phone addiction. My alcool consumption (despite a 3 weeks stay in Brittany) is in control (wishing to completely stop soon).
On the sport side, it’s been very erratic, probably (again) because of lack of objective. I’ve also been struggling with heat, and backpain. And i do too much low intensity work, so weekly load is barely enough to maintain form, but not enough to progressing. Actually i am wondering wether gravel biking is impending my running progress ?
